Who Are 'The Guides?'
Jan 22, 2025
When AJ and I began channeling together in 2016, we each channeled a specific but separate group of entities. AJ channeled a group of Arcturian beings who have guided and visited him since he was a small boy. I channeled a group of native elders I came to know as the Grandfathers. Whenever we channeled, the Arcturians would speak through AJ, and the Grandfathers would speak through me. A few other energies occasionally came in; I had been channeling Mirth, my Joy Guide, and several other personal spirit guides for several years. We assumed that, like many other channelers, we would each speak for a specific entity for the rest of our lives.
We noticed out loud that the messages of the Arcturians and the Grandfathers had been similar whenever either group was channeled, differing only in the language and style of expression. So one day, we asked the Grandfathers whether there was any relationship between them and the Arcturians. They answered rather quickly, “Of course — these are our ancestors. We come from the star people, and they are us.” We understood the more profound answer: Everything truly is connected, including the many entities across the physical and non-physical universe.
This point was made even more explicit over the next several weeks when I channeled the Arcturians one day, and AJ channeled the Grandfathers on another day. Over the following months, we would channel archangels, elementals, ascended masters, and joy guides, which are usually angelic spirits or the spirits of ancestors who choose to serve the living. We never knew who was going to show up during our regular channeling sessions. We only knew that the messages were similar but expressed from very different styles and perspectives.
Then, something unusual started happening: The entities all began to blend to where we couldn’t quite distinguish who was talking through us at any moment. We thought perhaps we had done something wrong or were discovering yet another entity. So, we asked them, as we often did, “Who is speaking through us now?” The answer surprised us. It came first in an image of a large rubber ball that had various faces poking out in different places and at different times. One being, multiple expressions. Over time, the message became fully articulated:
“We are all in the same universe, and we all share the same Divine Source of Energy. We, like all living beings across the universe, are unique aspects of the same Divine Source. At times, our unique perspective provides the greatest clarity. At other times, we share an understanding of truth and speak with the voice of the universal mind.”
“You, as a species, are entering a time where you can hear directly from the collective, universal mind, what you call mass consciousness. In such an energy flow, the recognition of individual identities as you have experienced before is not necessary or beneficial.”
The Guides, as we call them, are wholly uninterested in our knowing their names or focusing in any way on their identities other than to offer a specific perspective. When the voice has an angelic sound and feel, for example, it is because they wish for us to consider the message from an aspect of Divine Love. When the Ascended Masters intone, it is often in the form of teaching and from a human perspective. The elementals, which are often presented as fairies or plant spirits, carry with them a clear expression of nature that is unique to the others. Joy guides feel like family – they convey a fantastic love that feels like a warm kitchen with cookie baking just for us. The Grandfathers speak with authority and delightful humor when the message enters through that perspective. And the Beings have the objectivity that enables a comprehension free from emotion.
The Guides are all of these entities, collectively conveying Divine Source and Universal Mind while expressing the amazing diversity that is the true nature of the universe. They have taught us that we are all unique aspects of Divine Source, and we all contribute to the universal mind in its unfathomable fullness.
